Due to budget constraints, I am having to get pretty raw talent into the parts department. I am on CDK and my counterman will primarily work with GM, at the front counter and as a backup to the back counter as needed.

There used to be a CDK training exercise to help understand intricacies within the I and PRO function, but those seem to have gone by the wayside. They weren't especially intuitive but they did a good job laying out navigating those screens. Does anyone know if anything new is available? The CDK university I have now seems to just be for administrators.

Snap on had some training I'd never seen before that we used. It was actually fairly useful.

GM training lacks for basic parts. The workbench stuff goes into depths that aren't needed initially and seem to just confuse people.

Anyone have a 'training program' , or do you rely on yourself and counter people to help learn on the fly?

I am a smaller dealer, about $250k a month in sales. Mostly to our service department and own bodyshop. I have had to train a few newbies, and I just show them what they need to know. We are on Reynolds and there training has alot of stuff we dont use in it. I show them how I want things done. Usually after the first few weeks, they can be left on there own to cover lunches etc.

I believe CDK training has moved to the new unify platform.
