This can be a useful sevice as long as it is utilized properly. I see a lot of dealerships that "call" their customers to the point of becoming an irritant. For SOP, recall notification or a general call from time to time is o.k., in my opinion.
I know that I receive a ton of the pre-recorded political message calls right now, due to upcoming elections. I hang up on them, and I know customers contact dealerships and ask to be removed rom their list.
One new service being offered by these companies is e-mail message blasts, with a nice looking dealer specific page. You can cater the messages going out for model specific, lost souls, service specials, etc. First they( the vendors)data mine to capture your data bases e-mails (from various sources). Then you must contact the e-mail recipient and ask permision to contact them via e-mail. This is new to most vendors and the results are not yet in.
I'll update the post as results come in.
Thanks!
