WOW,,alot of feedback guys,thanks.
One thing i would like to clear up however,is
that i'm not charging service for all s/o parts.mostly the parts that are try me parts
that tac gives to a tech that doesn't seem to fix the car.Or tech misdiagnoses these i feel should not have to eat up my return reserve,especially when the rsg list already
does that for me.And to put these parts back on the shelve would cause only more problems.

Robert,
Just as Chuck did with an SOR clerk who followed up on SOR's, we did the same, though our clerk is paid a straight salary and not comission. This person co-ordinates between our inventory clerk and shipping and receiving clerk. Each has their part in the special order process, including making sure unclaimed returnable parts are sent back on the 30 day return program. This co-ordinated effort has resulted in an 80% improvement in customers returning for repair.

ok so what do you do when your service mgr is the owners son and gets paid off the gross and doesnt care about appts.does anyone else get the "card them" when the service dpet has no time but the parts in stk?
