UCS software will not run on current systems?

We have a small affiliated store that uses UCS. The rep came in and advised us that the next release of the software will not run on the current server (IBM 7000). He says we have to upgrade and as you can imagine, this is very costly (in excess of $70,000).

Are any other UCS dealers hearing this? Combine this with the loss of the data for the CPD Parts Catalogue, and it seems to me like this is the kiss of death for these guys.

Anyone having any luck getting out of your contract, I hear it is a nightmare with UCS.

We have wanted to get off this system for years, but now seems like the time to make the move.

Has UCS shared any info regarding them merging with or buying R+R?
