I sent a letter to all of my wholesale customers letting them know to be extremely careful when ordering parts and to provide us with body code, vin, etc. to help us get the parts correct. If they do not provide us with this information and it turns out that they provided us with the wrong info, I charge them a 10% handling fee to return the part. That's 10% of selling price.
I also charge a 10% handling fee for all daily orders. Retail, warranty, and wholesale. Warranty we recoup from Nissan on the RO, but retail and wholesale must pay for overnight also.
95% of my wholesale customers understood that Nissan was putting the squeeze on us so we had to pass it along. My monthly shipping went from about $3500.00 down to $100.00 and we are getting much more accurate and complete information from our wholesale customers.
