INTERESTED IN HOW MAJORITY OF PARTS DEPTS PAY THEIR COUNTERMAN...DO YOU BASE IT ON INDIVIDUAL PERFORMENCE...THE DEPT AS A WHOLE..HOW MANY ARE USEING SHOP FLAG HOURS AS COMPENSATION FOR THE COUNTERMEN? DO YOU USE SALARY PLUS COMMISION OR ONLY COMMISSION AND WHAT %S DO YOU BASE THEM ON..

I have my parts counter people paid on several different elements. Shop production hours, individual sales and total sales. My staff float in many different areas. They are very quick to fill in for any one that needs the help. I personally do not believe that pay plans will make them do their job, but a bad pay plan sure can keep them from doing what you want them to do!!
