GM no more shipping UPS

Postby CANITLK2APRTSGUY » Mon Jun 15, 2009 11:41 am

United Parcel Services (UPS) is no longer used for shipping material with in GMSPO. Please dispose of all ARS UPS labels. FedEx is to be used for all small packs within GMSPO.

Okay, does anyone no if GM will be shipping us pre-paid FEDEX shipping labels to ship back requested warranty returns? I cannot get anyone at the WPC to answer the phone or return my message inquiring...

Thanks

I emailed the Rick Luoma, the creator of the message.... his response

Hi Tony,
WPC is outside the scope of the GMSPO bulletin. Continue to use your UPS labels for WPC.

Once you guys have the joy of going to global warranty, you'll have to go in to global connect, generate a WPC return slip and also go to UPS.com where a return label is generated with the address the WPC wants you to send the part back at.

Bulletin last week (6/5) on Dealerworld adresses new Warranty Parts Center Request shipping procedure.

It's too big a file to copy here.

You have to access a new UPS website to print an ARS label specific to the warranty request. Do not use the pre-printed adhesive labels anymore.

Thanks possum. I missed that one.
I guess it is too much to ask for GM to tell us about the UPS website AND trashing the labels all in one bulletin.

In all actuality you are supposed to be using web based labels anyway. Refer to reference number Service/ Service Operations/G_0000030651 Subject: WPC Web-Based UPS Labels Replace UPS-ARS Labels. It really does seem as though it will be more convenient.

Toyota has had this system for about a year, for warranty returns as well as used cores. It really does make life easier.
