WORLD CLASS GM TECHS

I have recently had one of my technicians become world class certifide by gm. Do any of you guys have a world class tech,and what kind of hourly rate are these guys worth.

I have two in my shop (only a total of four in our state) and I pay them both $20/hour. We're a small midwestern, rural type town (population 9,000 or so). We have 7 techs in our shop.

Thanks for the info. I am already at 21 with this guy but i suspect im going to need to be around 23 anyone from the tx area have any sugestions

Fixed Ops:

You might want to consider some other alternative to recognize this techs achievement. A $1000 tool certificate or $2000 cash bonus might work as well as an increase in rate and be a lot cheaper in the long run. Or maybe a prime parking spot with a sign noting his achievement.

You would have to work out the specifics but the rate increase is forever but you might get the result you are looking for without changing the rate or maybe a combination of an small increase and a big bonus.
