we have been using nitrogen at our 8 stores for close to a year. our TPMS concerns have gone away with customers that use it. We looked at is as more of a CSI tool than a true profit center. we charge once for the life of the tire. when we sell a new set we always offer the nitrogen. pretty easy sell.

Have been using Nitro-Fill Nitrogen Machine for about 8 months. I was skeptical knowing the above mentioned info. If the customers maintain their tire pressures it is a waste of time and money. So, how many of them check their tire pressure regularly? Not many. We sell it based on thay premise. Concerning TPM lights, most dealers around here are jacking the tire pressure up to 10psi above spec to get and keep the light off. We Nitro-Fill 2 psi above spec and TPM issues gone.

I researched the nitrogen subject completely thru the internet, GM, all tire manfactures and found the long term results were very beneficial. As noted by the GM bulletin, NASCAR uses it, the military uses it, airline companies use it. It maintains a more consistant tire pressures, has no moisture in it so no TPM problems, no tire degredation to the rubber of the tires.
NiTRO fill company promises 90%+ pure nitrogen from their generator. Body shops have it for their paint booths..dryer air..
It is not a cure all for tire problems, but it does have more positive points than negative. Several of our HUMMER customers are talking that the HUMMER on line club highly recommends it. Wish we had another generator.

"I will say this though. You really should not have to purchase a machine. Your chemical provider, BG, MOC, Wynns etc will probably give you one. I know they all do out here"

FLYBOY--I'm confused (which happens quite easily) Why would any of those companies give you a machine for free? What's in it for them?

BG, Wynn's, ECT will give you a machine.....if you buy $4k's worth of valve caps, and roadside assistance....DON'T DO IT! Buy a nitrogen generator, it will pay for itself.

I'm curious as to what you guys charge for this service. We are looking real strong at getting a system from Ingersoll-Rand. Looks like a good unit. warranted for 5 years bumper to bumper. Any thoughts?

We purchased a unit for a little over $12,000 from Nitro-Fill and found that the unit could not keep up with us. My rep let me upgrade to the $19,000 unit. It looked exactly the same except inside it's generator components were bigger and the unit "recovered" in just minutes. He didn't give me the unit because how could he make his money back on a self sustaining unit that requires no chemical sales? I do buy the cap kits from him but that does includes the roadside assistance for a year. We used to include one year of towing for every used vehicle we sold and that cost us $25 per unit. Now we Nitro-Fill every vehicle and our cost is $12.50 per unit. If you go it alone, it will take forever to recover your costs. If it is sold as a Sales and Retention tool and you Nitro-Fill all your used vehicles, then I feel that's the way to go.

What is everyone charging for this service. We don't have anyone close doing this and I was just curious what the average is.
