Oil Chenge prices?

Has anyone thought about rasing the price of a 5 quart oil change?

We get our oil from GM and didn't raise it since last December. Our cost bulk went from 1.20 to 1.40. We have now been told 1.50 cost per quart starting January.

I am in south central PA and was at 24.95 (Sale)for up to 5 quarts

What's your average price and cost of sale?

Anybody considering rasing their customer pay labor rate? GM sates we will get a 3.82% warranty increase

The easiest way to solve this is with multiples levels of service. It's simple to set up a good, better, best oil change menu and let the SA's do their thing.

Once shops do this, they almost never get a "no" reply when the subject of an oil change comes up.

We were at $24.95 thru August 2005 and then went to$ 26.95 as of September 2005.
We are in Southern California and are part of Toyota's Express Lube Program (One Price all engines).
This price is competitive with independents in our market.

I AM CURRENTLY CHARGING $25.95 FOR A OIL CHANGE WITH UP TO 5 QUARTS OF PENNZOIL MOTOR OIL. AT MY CURRENT OIL PRICING FROM PENNZOIL I DO NOT MAKE ANY MONEY ON THE OIL. I AM CURRENTLY IN NOGOTIATIONS WITH VALVOLINE FOR A NEW CONTRACT.

DOES ANYBODY USE OIL MANUFACTURES OIL FILTERS INSTEAD OF OEMS?

DOES ANYBODY HAVE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE COMMENTS ON VALVOLINE OIL OR PRODUUCTS? (I HAVE BEEN WITH PENNZOIL FOR 30 YEARS NOW)

I agree with topshop. If you have a solid process in place to upsell the customer, a 10 to 20 cent increase per quart is minimized. We just had one of our customers report that they have seen a 62% increase in in their sythetic blend and sythetic oil change. With the way they price the good, better, best menu, they not only improve the gross but the effective labor rate as well.
