When life gives you lemons....?

Hi Gang. Been away from the forums for about 4 months.

Everybody hangin' in there?

Sad to say that, after 14 years, I was terminated....my last day was August 4th. I was very graciously thanked for my "dedication and hard work" but was told that "We're moving in a new direction and need a change of leadership."

Oh well.

I must say that, after 30 years in the car business, I feel like a fish out of water. I've only held one other job...that one lasted 16 years....so I'm not at all accustomed to looking for work ! Yikes !

Things are pretty dead in my town so it looks like I'll have to move out of the area and/or move on to a different industry entirely.

Well, I'll drop in from time to time just in case there's some conversations going on that I might be able to contribute something useful to.

At the risk of stating what's blatantly obvious I'll advise that anyone with a job do *whatever* it takes to keep it. Things are gonna get worse before they get better !

Well, it only took 6 months...ahem...but I finally got another job. I'm now the curator/caretaker/manager of a private collection of nearly 200 classic and exotic cars.

I think it'll be a lot of fun. After 30 years in dealerships this will be a nice change of pace
