Service Advisor Problem

Postby fopsdoc » Sat May 27, 2006 12:44 pm

Particus,
No...each team of 5 techs and 1 Advisor has a C+ or B tech doing the inspections. I pay the inspection techs on a graduated scale starting at $2.00 for every hour turned by their team. If the team turns "X" number it goes to $2.50 and so on.
A vehicle can not leave the shop without an "Inspected By" fluorescent green sticker attached to the hard copy. The service manager spot checks the hard copies for "add on" lines and up sold jobs.
This system works but it took them a couple of weeks at each store to get their systems down and there are still some minor issues.

As a service manger if the tech did not turn in a 27 point inspection sheet with the repair order they were booked .5 less or nothing if it paid .5 or less.

If you don't do the job complete, why should you be paid for a complete job?

Simple "People who work here do it this way".

I echo the other comments. He needs a one-on-one.

Great idea with the designated inspector.
