Service RO formats?

We are looking at redesigning our write-up ROs and invoices. We have used the same one for ages and needs updating.

Can anyone recommend a good format to use for the RO and/or invoice?

What system are you on?
Manual, Tractor feed or laser?

Most systems have some customizing capabilities - but they all have limitations.

3. things to consider.

1. Research and maintain legal compliance with your state and your franchise(s)

2. Consider point-of-purchase selling with recommended service tables and (if capable)seasonal offerings.

3. Consider your filing systems. Make the key-index items (invoice, tag, serial number) easy to access without having to handle the paper too much.
Example - your dispatcher may have RO's in tech trays in a landscape position, but the header detail is in portrait position requiring you to lift the invoice and spin it 90 degrees to read.
Consider (again if possible), having those key items print horizontally down the side.

Also consider bolding or italicizing certain pieces of information.
