Maintenance Logs for Customers

Postby cgolden » Wed Mar 22, 2000 11:52 am

I am interested in finding a good vehicle maintenance log and reminder that is currently being used. I have looked at what GM does with their Driver's Log and was not real impressed. Has anyone had any results with GM's program? Are there better ones?

I developed our own maintenance logs for customers that purchased vehicles from us. It tells them at what mileage to come in, what is done, explains the benefits of maintenance, explains our free oil change program, and is filled out by my advisors and the end torn off so that they see when the next mileage/time is that they should come in. It also entitles them to $300 extra at trade in time if all maintenance is done by us. We also promote accesories in it. If you like I could send you a copy of it for your review.

Mike, I should have been more specific. What I am really looking at is a web based product that customer could access, post information, get maintenace requirements, and be reminded of their next maintenance requirements.

Sounds to me like you need to post a web page that list's the scheduled services. What a great idea!!!!!

Sounds good. I have not seen any product as intensive as you discribe. Dealership web service pages can list a menu of services required at intervils. Another one that goes back to paper is ADP has a followup program that produces a booklet that can be given to each customer at time of sale. I have seen one from a Chevy dealer in Calgery AB, Canada and it is great. It includes coupons for things such as a comp oil change after 4 paid ones, a rental for 30K and other large services and a discount coupon on next vehicle purchase if all services have been done. It really keeps the coustomer coming back and on time.

At the NADA convention this past January, I signed up with mygarage.com. This is an website that includes among other things a customer maintainence log, service reminders, and much more. This may be something to look into if this is what you are looking for.
