In my opinion, if you have the business, this product is the only one that can actually pay for your technology investment without having to add additional employees, etc..

I'm curious why more don't have it

Great question.

This application can make a positive difference, yet I've never seen a post on this subject. My first install was back in the mid 80's, which makes it a mature product.

The usage of this product seems to be in geographical pockets around the country. In Michigan, there is a large percentage of dealers using tech terminals.

I think the penetration comes down to your local rep's understanding of the product and whether neighboring dealers are advocates.
I've never heard of a dealer pulling it out because it couldn't justify itself.

This type of offering (shop dispatching, electronic repair order, etc.) seems to either be loved or hated. often the pivot point I seem to see is a persons willingness to give up some of their 'control' to the system to allow it to do its' thing. Once in and running, the vast majority of dealers I speak with would be hard pressed to live without it. How hard is it to give some level of control over to the system with regards to dispatching jobs, etc.?
