Where do All the People Go??

The belief of GM and Chrysler is that they will continue to sell the same amount of vehicles with a reduced dealer network. (Only time will prove this true or not)

However, if that assumption becomes reality, then those remaining stores actually grow their business, with the expectation that the remaining stores presumably do the same amount of business as the orginals. If that is true, the remaining store will need all of the techs, all of the salespeople, the service advisors, porters, detailers that were out there spread amongst other stores.

Unfortunately though, those remaining dealerships wont need 2 Service Managers, 2 Sales Managers, 2 GMs, 2 controllers, etc. and I expect that those management positions will represent most of those who are not simply relocated to another store. As many have mentioned, those with higher pay and fewer remaining "working" years will have the most difficulties in finding a new home.

I am expecting the "consultant" world to have a number of new entries!
