PAY

Not a clue but my gut would tell me 150-200% of the average Service Manager pay that he is supervising. So if average managers are making $75k, I would expect the fixed ops director of multiple stores to be in the $110-$150 range. But again, I am just going off the varations of percentages I've heard.

PAY

Depends on the size of the shops. If they are the normal 10 -15 techs/shop, then I agree with Rob - $110 to $150K would be aobut right.

Would also depend on what part of the country
The highest pay that I have seen is in California, Florida, and Texas. I've seen over 200K per year in those areas.

PAY

I still would think my estimate is close for an average. I guess size is an influence but not really because it doesn't correlate to your job functions. I mean you might practically run all the stores yourself, or you might just set up meeting and act as a kind of district manager when looking at goals and standards. And even if we could narrow down all your duties and etc, in the end is the job pays somewhere between the dealer wanting it as cheap as possible and you wanting to maximize your income. Plus it isnt like there are dozens of these groups out there in which to make pay comparisons.

PAY

Is your Auto group a privately held or is it a Public comapny? If it is a public company then your pay is tied to making investor's happy, and is probably just a percent of gross profit. If your role is defined and you actualy influence true bottom line profits, then your pay should be paid to performance. Just some thoughts for you.
