Body Shop Gross Profit and Sales

I am a new service director and I would like to know if any of you all can give me some idea on what type of hours sheet metal techs should turn a week as well as painters. I have been told by my owner he wants to see the painters turn 100 hrs per week and the sheet metal guys between 45 to 50 hours a week. Is this possible or do I have a uphill battle

I don't have our numbers at hand (I'm at home....) but the body shop guys generally turn MUCH higher hours than our regular service techs.

The metal men should be able to turn 50 hours/week easily. Painters....well, 100 hours seems a bit high, but I'm guessing that 60 or 70 would be easily doable and 100 may be in reach if the circumstances were right.

So much depends on variables....how the shop is loaded, how many techs, the structure/work flow/organization of the shop, how many hours do they actually work (overtime), do the techs have "helpers", etc etc

Good luck

what part of the country do you work in? that will sometimes dictate what type of work they will be doing. So it would help if I knew where so I could let you know the expected production effeciency for those techs.
