Farewell to service!

Farewell to service!

Postby zekensted » Wed Jul 25, 2007 11:08 am

One Saturday, when I was not in the right frame of mind due to some personal issues, I had a sales person go crying to the dealer about my mistreatment. One of the reasons the dealer jumped me was that even though I worked alot of extra hours, many sales people work even more - and, I made twice as much money as that sales person. Made me think a little about where the salesperson was coming from.

Oh, and I still quit.

Good luck. I have always said, if you can sell service, selling cars should be easy.

ZFAN24, I wish you luck as well, Sales will be a challenge as well, long hours and the demands for selling units each and every month. I know the feeling that you had experience. As you I put my heart and soul into a service department, funny thing the more you do the more they expect, even with demands. Again I wish you luck

I also want to wish you good luck! You won't regret the move. I have 3 plus bosses. One brother gm, on brother service manager, and one brother, well we don't know what he does. Sales manager thinks he's god and office manager thinks she's one step above that. Im a parts manager but have alot of respect for what you did. We need to stand up for ourselves and do waht you think is right. oh by the way that store sounds like a perfect match for Nissan. They don't seem to have a clue about what there doing anymore either.

Farewell to service!

I just joined this forum to have a look and see what was going on out there. I spent a total of 5 years being service manager of a good sized shop with 4 lines. I was the victim of structure change and my position was eliminated (fixed ops manager does it now). They still haven't replaced my position.

How much of this is going on out there right now? Sales are suffering and it seems the first place dealers always cut back is in fixed ops.

So I took an idea of mine and have benn working on it. The professional website should be up mid-october, but for now you can read about it at www.instacsi.com

I would appreciate any feedback from persons such as yourself.
