Does anyone have a good pay plan for ASMs that will promote teamwork and CSI?

I would take a look the the 5x5 pay plan that ATcon created.

My old service manager was involved in creating and we were one of the first dealerships to use it. It seemed to work really well and you set it up to target the areas you want.

AtCon ... are they still in business?

I've used 5x5 as a temporary measure, but I don't care for it long term. The reason why is the worst box usually is set so low that the person shouldn't be employeed and the high box asks for a herculean effort without a very substantical bump.

May I ask when your store was using the 5x5, did you wash the commission/goals weekly or monthly?

That being said, 5x5 is an option and I have used it successfully. My preference would be to split the commission between individual and group performance with CSI modifiers on both (like a 1/4% bump for hitting your target score).

RobC - As my name says, I was the parts manager so I am not sure if he washed it weekly or monthly. My guess would be monthly. As for ATcon still being in business? Not sure, but their website is still up and they are selling the 5x5 pay plan on it.

I liked the pay plan itself because you can use the same pay plan for any and all of your advisors. I feel it awards stronger advisors. You are correct that you don't want to have an ASM in the worst box and probably no one is going to be in the top box either, but the idea is to have them in the lower right quadrant of the grid.

Remember this about any pay plan for any position.

Pay Plans dont "manage" people, they should reward the behaviors you expect.

If a pay plan could actually manage people and processes - there would be no need for Managers!
