SI 2000

We have been able to access SI 2000 through GM Access, from our techline terminals as follows:
1. Select Internet explorer
2. Type in Service.gm.com do not use http or www.
3. User in lower case = si2kser
4. Password also in lower case = ser0702v
I understand that by February the sites will be upgraded to allow more speed. This may be an alternative to upgrading our PCs to 13GB hard drives and 450 MHz processors.

Good Luck

I haven't seen any new information on SI2K since last September. I figured they forgot about this effort. Too bad, because Ford's qcdealer.com site is now Ford's primary source of communicating with dealers. Ford passes GM again on another technology front.

We also had to purchase a new computer. We have SI2000 up and running. We are finding that the system is very sensitive and has to be re-booted on occasion. When they set us up they even warned us about that. Other then that, we like it real well.

We have it SI2000 up and running on two PC's in our shop. It's been great and no problems at all.. Installed the last update two weeks ago and still no problems. Even the most non-computer experanced techs have found themselves using it more and more.. I gave each tech a Favorites folder so and showed them how to save stuff and the really enjoying being able to go back to the exact place in a flow chart or what ever and get the infomation quickly. It's really been a great tool so far..

Has anyone got si2000 on a stand alone (non-techline) terminal that is connected to the access server????? This would be a great help. I have it running on the 1 techline pc we have but have not been able to expand it to a non-techline pc. It would not matter except that some of us need access to the internet and that precludes the use of si2k as it disallows the use of any dial-up connection.
