Great point, but tell me a shop that has a flush machine that doesn't sell it everyone, including little Mrs. Grandma who drives a 4cyl economy car. It is as necessary for her application?
I agree that the trans and coolant flushes have been the most usefull and thus the older products. I was really thinking of engine, power steering, brake, refridgerant flushes. I could still go either way on many of them.
But there is no
requirement that anyone have a trans flush performed. If I feel it necessary that would be my opinion and really needs to be phrased as such.
And I am not a tech but I would understand the big reason why a trans system needs flushed after replacement is because there are all kinds of particles in the system from the failure. Under normal fluid use the friction material that is worn off is designed to flow through the system and get caught in the filter before being sent upsteam again. But like I said I am not a tech.
