adp tech payroll sucks

Postby the girl » Tue Jun 06, 2006 2:39 pm

We are a small Chevy store in LI with the new ADP system and are having a problem with payroll. Havent called ADP, having been in our world, I know we know more ... at least quicker. In R&R we can backflag in the bottom of the screen if there is an existing flag and it time punches the changes. Now we have techs pd time inserted by SA just to PP the invoice then flags are done and the time in the computer is pd to the tech and a day or whatever later the time is changed ... lower and it goes unnoticed. any time a time is input into the computer it comes up in the time report but not reflecting anything but the new time. Hard to explain but we have 60K in pd out time not on RO's...WIP....any help would be great, but will call ADP as last resort...Thanks All

You should notice an asterisk next to the flagged items that have multiple postings. This is your clue to look at the multiple postings at the end of the report. These will show the original and subsequent postings for that tech on that line.

Creating the bogus time by the writer just to Pre-invoice the ticket seems to be the heart of your issue. Any way around this double posting debacle?

Don't be afraid to call support. They may have some good suggestions for you.

Why wouldn't you call support if you are having an issue...that is what they do, help clients with issues.

i guess i should advise i am now a retired service manager subcontracting warranties without the headaches of managing just get to "consult" here and there. i did a bit more research and the proverbial poop is about to hit the fan. the current mgr is doing payroll and pays techs on flag sheets and not putting the time in the computer-the time he pays the tech is based on the complaint. looks like most often not looking at history or parts listed or not listed on the ro. for instance paying on comebacks...intake done 2 months ago leaking yet again same tech....or 3500 truck with pulsation in brakes -- pd tech on flag sheet without checking with tech -- no work was done--work truck with "body modifications" ... or...pd on a sop when ordered and pd again when sop is installed. I gather he looks at the punches on the flags and thats the pay...i have gone back 2 months and found possibly 80 some odd hours that will need .. backflagging....god bless the poor s.o.b. that has that job. this was only may and april--problem started in september...ST has been bringing it up over and over and over on deaf ears. well my mouth has opened without holding back to the owner and i hope he listened

I was working at a Mercedes dealer in CA and the exact same problem occured. It had gone un noticed for about 8 months. total dollar figure all said and done was about $200k over paid between 18 techs. They never backflagged the techs, and i'm not sure the dealer legally could. Anyways, the "*" at next to the lines will show this multiple posting. The way I nipped that in the butt was, I ended up coding EVERY repair order including customer pay tickets, and phyiscally closing the repair order myself. after about 3 months the problem worked its way out.

Pay the techs on the closed ro and than you don't have to worry about adjustments. But you can use PPA when necessary.

If you have ADP Alliance/Web 1000 then you and I are a part of a very small group of dealers who are trying to use Technician Time Paid. The support isn't very good on this one because the program isn't very good. But, when you call support, ask that a PCR be filed. ADP takes these PCR's and turns them into fixes very quickly.
