At $99, it's competitive with buying it in the aftermarket. At $105, we're pushing it. I know my PartsPlus store around me is selling it for $85 right now, while the big warehouse is selling it for $79. $20 a keg is nothing to sneeze at.

just a word of caution here,gm knows how much r134 you purchase from them,and when you start billing out more then what you purchase from them (under warranty) you can and will be investigated by them. they will bill back to your dealership thousands of dollars worth of warranty,there is a dealership in the next town over that just had that happen to them and it cost them over 22k. in charged back warranty repair.

Speaking of R134a, how do most of you charge it out on repair orders so that it does not show up as an unrecognized sale by GM? Have had it show up as unrecognized since we use R134a as the part number.

We use pn 12356150 with a cost of $1.75 for 1/2 lb......

My warranty admin said we have to bill it out in ounces. I haven't made the switch to ounces yet, but I'm worried about it showing up due to price. Currently I have it in as pounds at a cost of $3.50.

You use the R134 30lb cylinder part number 12356150

Receipt it in OUNCES and charge it out in OUNCES. This is the way GM says to do it and it works perfectly.

P.S.

You will need to adjust the cost ( trade and list ) in your DMS accordingly, to reflect the cost of 1 ounce at the current GM price per 30lb cylinder ( 480 ounces ), or any other bulk part listed.
