Ign. switch recall.

Ign. switch recall.

Postby camaroman » Thu Mar 20, 2014 12:46 pm

Anyone able to order these and upgrade them without calling SPAC. Every time I order it doesn't allow me to upgrade it without calling SPAC. According to the bulletin we should be able to upgrade them through the system.

I tried 2 VINs Wednesday & I received SPACs on both. Now, I know that we have them in loaners, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.

I haven't tried yet. We told everybody to call back the week of April 7th. Give GM more time to make the switches.

I have 9 custs now in rentals, vehicles here. 1 of them a Saturn, took 30 min on phone. Kept getting message GMW down, cant validate vin but finally got SPACs on them. Even SPAC rep said this part number is "messy".

I have ordered a total of 3, separately. Two of them i was able to SPAC thru GlobalConnect. One I had to do via SPAC operator.. 45 minute phone call. It was not a Saturn. I sent an email to my rep immediately, like that will do anything.

This is the reply I just received from my REP.

Here is the response I received from SPAC manager regarding errors when upgrading ign switch from CSO to SPAC

They need to upgrade from order history screen, not order status screen

Please try this and let me know

Thanks

Denise

I had the same problem yesterday. I called SPAC and the agent told me to upgrade from the backorder report that is under reports and tools. Seemed to work fine.

Do not put customers your rental fleet. We only have 45 vehicles in our fleet. Due to the scope of the recall and all of the junkers it entails, we are not using up our new fleet on the recall. We have been instructed by our GM rep to refer them to Enterprise. The customer will have to seek reimbursement through GM.

Do not let GM put the onus on you to provide mass rentals. You have options.
