I bet all those involved with the decision making for this huge recall feel as though they're living in a horror story.

Usually the most "horrid" of horror stories are the ones we create ourselves, not always but usually. Just sit back and watch as I doubt we have seen the worst of this yet!

You are correct about the new keys we had our first Ion in today keys started the car but would not open the doors !!!

grinding wheel cleaned them up nicely.

Yes grinding the shoulder down will make them work, but considering that we are already dealing with recalled vehicles the minute we alter the repair procedure we are taking on the responsibilty for those repairs. When GM recommends grinding them, we will, but until then we are holding tight.

Have to agree with Gerry. Give the old keys back to the customer and tell them "oh well, this is what GM had to offer".
ANY modification by the Dealer will leave you wide open for trouble. If the customer complains just give them GM's phone number.
