Thanks Denise, I didn't make the webex as I rarely if ever can just stop what I'm doing when those things run.

Anyone know if it's avaialable for download? Don't remember seeing any announcement stating you could watch it later.

As much legal speak as it started with, even they themselves probably never recorded it!

Copy too, please: robear30 (at) gmail (dot) com

I actually fat-fingered a code and set up a cylinder wrong. Luckily the keys were shallow enough to re-cut with the correct code, and those cylinders are easy to re-do. But this was PURE LUCK. We need a source for extra keys, as they're different from OE issue.

Thanks much!

I called SPAC this afternoon to ask about getting extra keys and after the initial 3 minutes of unbypassable messages, then 3-5 minutes of holding while the agent looked in to it, she came back saying we cannot order extra keys at this time but after the initial SPAC case is filled, the VIN is deleted and you can use the VIN again and open another SPAC case on a key if it's broken. I asked if we can order additional kits the same way and she said no, they do keep the VIN attached to the kits. So I guess it's not deleted then LOL

I just tested it by using the VIN from our first repair to try and get 2 extra keys - We'll see if it works. I ordered the 2 keys with the VIN in the note field like we do with the switches. Got the same message about "National control" and had to hit submit twice to send it through. It then went to 88.

We had our first SNAFU Friday, on this recall. I believe the column had been changed, but have no proof! The keys we cut were way off from the customer's original. We were able to read the code off the side of the original cylinder itself. There goes my directive to the techs (on some cars) of programming the new keys prior to removing the cylinder.
