Yup, I got one this morning, Love it, one control number and part number with NO reference as to which VIN # is bad. Some of my control numbers have 15 to 20 switches on them so I hope I didn't fat finger any others.

I paste the last 8 of the VIN into Investigate Vehicle History in parts workbench, and then copy and paste the entire VIN from there into my order.

I've been using the first 4 characters of the customers name as the Control Number to keep track of who's getting what.

Just about fed up with these DIPSTICKS!!!!! Got 4 answerbacks this morning "Canceled: invalid VIN for recall" Just got done running the VIN info on one of them and there is NOT one damned thing wrong with it. 2007 G5 vin # 77120619 order put in on 04/29 for part # 23215459. Does not even have an issue with their "automatic 2008 and newer number change". POS program put together by MORONS. The other three might be that the number change is NOT friggen working as they are all after the touted 04/16 order date.

I've mentioned it before but I force the service dept to write a repair order (no excuses accepted) and I order each kit one at a time using the repair order # as the control #. Not one of these switches will ever come in not knowing who's it is. The ROs stay in a folder on my desk until the parts arrive and are returned to service when the parts get here. This is miserable enough as it is and if I can simplify something for us once in a while, I'm going to do it.

And if for some reason, the RO hits that 60 day point of being open, they can close it and open another and I'll move the parts to the new one and relabel the parts with the new RO #. But none of these should approach the 60 day point

Yea, I got an answerback this AM stating they cancelled an order from Apr 24 for an Invalid VIN. The VIN is good. All I did was REORDER IT. (23215459). I'm not playing their BULLSHIT GAMES!

Thats all I am going to do Partsguy. I just hope it is one we have in a rental 'cause when all is said and done it is going to be one giant a$$ crow they are going to eat.
Sad part is they did not learn one damned thing from all of this. The made the national news the other day as being " The WORST company for suppliers to deal with" again. Make it fast, make it cheap or get the hell out of the way. It's the corporate creed untill they have to cry crocodile tears over who got killed by the next POS they put out.

"Just about fed up with these DIPSTICKS!!!!! "

DIPSTICKS are Gr 1.516

In my recollections they more closely resemble a " RECEPTACLE" in Gr 7.068 which is at the TAIL END of the vehicle :D

This same thing happened with me yesterday. 23215459 was ordered on 4/17 and almost a month later canceled and said not a valid vin for recall. Spent way to much time on the phone with SPAC, WPC, TAC GM warranty assistance. SPAC agreed it was ordered correctly and vin number was good and correct, Couldn't tell me why the order canceled and couldn't point me in the right direction either. They just said re-order so thats what I did. Now in another month we'll see if it cancels again.
