Well, it just got worse.......

Well, it just got worse.......

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is to notify you that starting today, May 28, 2014, GM is requesting the return of all ignition switches and associated parts involved in the ignition switch recalls. Please follow the Warranty Parts Center return process for return of these system-identified parts along with proper packaging, attaching the applicable parts return label, and including a copy of the job card inside the box.

Really?!?!?!?!? They must think we have nothing else to do!

I've been waiting for this. They have to find a way to save som e money in this by denying claims and not paying rental. So anybody that didn't save the parts is screwed.

That and UPS just got a little richer as these things will have to go back one at a time just like they came.
So tell me, when UPS loses one of them are we going to get docked? Hopefully not as THEY generate the shipping process.

Not to mention what the General pays us to go thru the process to return parts to the WPC.

The WPC has been requesting 2-3 items a week from us and I found that annoying (considering that it used to be 1-2 per month). Guess I shouldn't have complained. LOL Can't wait till that website crashes once we all try to get in there and generate all the paperwork! Yay GM.

We've sent a few back to the PDC already. I'm amazed but sure there is a good reason, legal or otherwise for the returns. The expense of this recall is unprecedented and is continuing to grow with every new bulletin. Now add another $7-$8 to each one? Somebody better call UPS and tell them to be prepared for 2.6 million boxes coming their way!

ps. Is UPS traded publicly on the stock market? This might be considered "insider trading" but it sure is a great tip! ;)

All I know is FedEx and UPS stock should be going up since GM is really helping their bottom line.

It's probably someone besides GM in this case that wants to make sure these are all actually done. It was forced upon them IMO. I really doubt GM is looking forward to the expense of calling all these back. Engineering doesn't need millions of them back. This must be some type of CYA thing.

Does GM still pay you .3 for sending back a part to the WPC? I am now at a Chrysler store, they want 2-3 parts a week and pay zero for the hassel. Our current claims process is in shambles. Our average warranty claim is 21 days old so I have a real mess to dig through to find these parts to send back.
