GM recall for 08-newer switch kit

We all know these aren't available yet, for the 2008-11 HHR, Cobalts, etc, but are you all still ordering them? Are they going into a que or are you waiting until they are actually available? Sorry if this has been brought up before.

I have been ordering the 23228993. Sooner is better as you will now be at the end of the line. I realize the line is not moving, but once it does, those ahead of you will get their parts first.

your mileage may vary...

yeah, I got 1 on the 21st, one on the 23rd and 4 yesterday (28th)

Still haven't received the only one we have a customer in a rental for (ordered on the 1st - 14063)

No one's asked me to take someone elses for that person so GM can keep paying for the rental I guess. I cut the keys before I even tell service they're here so I wouldn't be able to steal someone else's anyway.

I cut the keys first because I'm the only one here that can and I may or may not have 10 minutes to cut them when the tech wants the job. I'd rather just wash my hands of all our responsibilities ahead of time

What happens when the advisor calls the customer and they traded/sold the vehicle? You're now stuck with cut keys. I will NOT cut keys until the vehicle is on site. I've already had to eat 3 sets of keys, luckily they were Chevy and I had some extras from before the recall.

If they traded/sold the vehicle in the 2 months since the the parts were ordered, no other dealer can get them anyway since they are vin specific (duplicate VIN cancel), the parts will come from me anyway. If we were one of the dealers doing 600+ of these, I might have a different plan of attack but I have about 60 total on order/done

I can guarantee I won't be eating anything.

I should add that we're a Buick GMC Caddy Saab dealer with myself and a counterguy, 7 techs, phones that never stop ringing and a average retail counter. We're way too busy dealing with day-to-day issues than to have something like that bog us down for long periods at a time. There are a lot of things I've had to make decisions like that about to remain as efficient as possible. I can envision 5 of our techs wanting these switch kits and keys cut all at the same time at some point when there just won't be time to deal with it. Especially during the summer months on Cape Cod. I just want the parts process done and out of my face as soon as possible. If at the end of it all, there's a kit or 2 that gets tossed, then so be it.
