WPC missed a return??????

WPC missed a return??????

Postby PARTSPHIL » Fri Jun 20, 2014 3:11 pm

As if we dont have enough to track, I just noticed that one of my switch returns has gone into the red 15-21 day period. I ship these every day as they appear. After checking my records (I keep duplicates of every piece of paper on these) I found that this part was shipped the day it was requested and was received at the WPC on 6-11-14. I have tried every way I know to contact the WPC about this and the best I can do is leave a voicemail. I have spent about an hour so far on this today. Good thing I have nothing better to do....

Wait untill they try to do something about it. In other words do not waste your time. You have the tracking info, so it sounds like it is GM's problem to me. I have had all I can stand as far as wet nursing their CF goes!!

I've got 2 that we've done and they paid the claims on last week and still haven't asked for back. One had a rental and the other was just a regular one. We've done many before and after that have had requests but these 2 still haven't been requested.

Certainly not going to open a can of worms by sending them back without requests

I was on vacation the first week on June, When I came back we had the bulletin to return all switch recall parts from prior to may 27th. I tried 6 different cpu's that had excel here at the dealer and never could get the spreadsheet to work properly, I even asked the DBC to see which switches I needed to send back and they were no help, so I just sent back every switch kit we had installed up to may 27th. Of course I didn't even look to see if claims had paid. One of them I had already sent back we just got paid for a month later, got a request for it back today on GWM. The car was done on May 16th but the SM was waiting on some authorization from our slow to help DM for a rental car and finally got the $1386 claim paid today.
I also got a message into WPC, hope this one doesn't get charged back to us.

I would contact your DMA about the ones in the red. Email him the tracking #, transaction ID and all pertinent info including who signed and on what day. Ask for a parts waiver. That'w what our warranty guy at GM said to do, get the DMA to authorize the waiver then contact your warranty rep.

I wonder at what point these idiots will cease to amaze me? :

In regard to the General Motors requested return of certain parts replaced under Field Actions 13454A, 14063A, 14092, 14113B and 14133B, there was a system issue such that for claims paid only on Monday, June 16, 2014, the warranty claims system did not automatically request these parts be returned to GM. However, these parts must also be returned to GM accordingly. Please package up each part individually with a copy of the repair order paperwork inside and send to the below address:

Attention: Bud Abbott
Warranty Parts Center
45 Northpointe Drive
Orion, MI 48359

A chart explaining the separate part return requests is attached in .xls and .pdf.

Thank you for your continued patience and assistance.

The ignition switch parts return activities are as a result of certain legal preservation issues in legal matters involving the ignition switch recall and it is very important that all GM employees and GM dealers follow the above instructions concerning return of these parts.
The switches need to be packaged and returned separately so they can be tracked to a specific VIN# and repair order.

update.... I emailed my area rep and am still waiting for him to even acknowledge that he received the email.... as usual. I called the WPC Friday and left a voicemail. No response. I live chatted with the DBC this morning and hey said I should call the WPC. See the pattern developing? So for grins, I called the WPC again. On just the second try, I GOT A LIVE PERSON! Lori was able to take the request number and the tracking number and see that it had been signed for upon delivery and she cleared it out for me! Thanks Lori! your results may vary as I am sure Lori will be fired soon for doing her job so well!

Sounds like you have my rep. After an email I sent about a month ago that went unacknowledged for a solid week, I forwarded that email to his boss asking what's up with that. Funny how the phone rang shortly after. Bet I don't run into that problem any time soon again.

"there was a system issue such that for claims paid only on Monday, June 16, 2014"
Seems there is still a "systems issue" as one of the switches done on that day is now being called back in the normal manner. Just like the last bulletin, SNAFU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had the warranty clerk on the phone for 5 tries and 30+ minutes just trying to get ahold of them over one that did not show. She managed to "leave a message" and I am quite sure that it will get handled "promptly" (LMAO).
