Any Nissan Dealers that tried Partseye?

Any Nissan Dealers that tried Partseye?

Our FOM Susan Walsh finally got me to break down and sign on with the new PartsEye program Nissan is rolling out. We will be one of the first to go active. Just wondering who piloted this, if any and how they liked it? The 100% obso assurance is what got my eye.

Will: Bets of luck! Hopefully Nissan has more on the ball than GM. 100% obso, to me at least, means EXACTLY that. For GM RIM it is 100% (as long as it meets thier guidelines). Any duplication or overlapping orders fall between the cracks and I can assure you it is ALL the Dealers fault. If you charge something on an RO and then remove it (not a written credit)a day later
then you are stuck with it. Make sure you follow closely how they "play the game". Hope it works out for you.

I just got the email from David......interesting to say the least but I'm not getting overly excited as of now. I wish Nissan would put their money towards other much needed things like upgrading the parts film, dealer communications, etc......I know within time every franchise will probably be going to automated stock replenishment in some form or another. Hopefully technology will keep the programs simple and more importantly accurate. From what I've read on here....that RIM program sounds like a headache to some people.

Ya, about 8 years ago I had to deal with GM and RIM. I can say a few choice words about it.

As for Nissans version, from what I understand they have a $200 something limit on overage and underage you can play with. Like if you want to stock more than what they recommended.
I am just wondering how the accessory side of it will go, as we MOVE some accessories. I have a dealer principle that like naked vehicles, and have us make money and accessorize instead of Nissan off the rip. Works for me, but I hope it works for this new quasi-RIM business.

We use it with kia. Was resistant at first but its fairly good. Needs a little babysitting at first for fast movers tends to understock a little bit. The Planners to adjust stocking levels are hit or miss. Some are helpful some are a pain in the butt. The returns are easy enough and usually nothing too large so it must be doing something fairly right.

Im curious on how tailored it will be. We are a small dealer 50 miles between big cites. VW and Nissan with 4 techs between the franchises. One of our 2 service advisors comes back to parts late morning for the rest of the day and our service manager then goes to the lane so we have 2 people in both departments. Our parts inventory is about 100K so I think it's pretty manageable manually. Anything we pull from stock that we want to re-order we write on down a clipboard. When we run our orders, we compare anything our DMS (ADP Websuite 2007) recommends to the clipboard and make the necessary additions/adjustments to the order before we send it. It usually takes 5-10 minutes to do both orders. How will this program benefit us compared to how we do it now. I'm sure we are not catching all the lost sales and stocking opportunities but I don't want to add more work to an already busy day. Especially with our staffing levels. Just curious on others thoughts...

Its rediculously easy to order. It will probably save you time. We were of a similar size when we started partseye 5 or so years ago. You will have to babysit fast movers at first with a small shop it tends to not stock for spikes very well.

I pulled the trigger and signed up. Gonna give it a whirl and see what happens. Sounds like it won't kick in till sometime in August. Not really liking the fact of having 2 seperate orders but we'll see what happens.

I really would like to pull the trigger and sign up but feel they haven't given us enough information yet. My biggest concern is sheet metal. If they will allow us to exclude sheet metal. I don't have enough room to store it with out it getting damaged.

@MovingForward - please see the thread on our NNA D360 community. I've posted the new policy terms and conditions there along with answers to several other questions that have been asked. I will have a definitive answer on sheet metal after a meeting in the morning. Presently we have a rule in place whereby any part over $275 can be edited off of a suggested order regardless of commodity.
