Good to hear about the Sheet metal, as I also simply do not have the room, nor want, nor demand for it in our area also. We have about 130K, a lot of obso from the dealer we bought out and 5 techs, 2 counter guys in parts, 2 service SAs. Time management and accurate orders are the name of the game where we are at.

I like being able to have a say in the high price items though. That is a plus. I am waiting now on our DP to sign off on the initial paperwork to get them to do the work up on how much initially they will be. My DP told me it will be a no go if the initial order will be over 20K.

With kia you can exclude body parts as a whole wich includes sheet metal. I currently have it excluded because small space + sheet metal = someones gonna mess it up before its sold. KIA classified all their parts as sub types to parts eye so you could exclude body glass etc. Id imagine nissan/partseye would follow a similar trend.

I have used GM Rim and Chrysler ARO and PartsEye in my opinion is easier and better than the first two. I used PartsEye with 2 Subaru, 1 Kia and 2 Nissan stores. My two Nissan stores were not part of the pilot and I was paying full price for the program with no inventory protection. It was worth the money to our stores to get the right parts on the shelf quicker for CSI scores and we were able to clean up all the aged inventory using the accrual that we already were earning from Nissan. After using PartsEye for 3 years, I left the dealership world and now work for PartsEye as a trainer and a planner. If you have questions feel free to call the company and ask and they will answer your questions for you.

The new program depends on what you sign up for, the Wholesale Mechanical program or just the NIA program that will suggest your stock orders based on what you are selling. Quicker phase in and phase out and with guaranteed returns after 9 months based on AGE in your DMS, last sale date and last receipt date, there really is no risk to the dealer. Dealers have the ability to edit parts over $275 or over certain dimensions for the other body parts under the $275 min.
