It took me two years to convince my current DP to use the factory tire programs and to stop using the local tire store as we were just helping our competition. It took me a year to convince him that we don't need to sell tires at cost. It took me 2.5 years to convince him that selling to internal at 10% over cost rather than MSRP was just throwing money away. It took me three years to convince him that using OE parts on used vehicles was much better for the dealership than buying everything from NAPA, especially when we have the OE parts sitting on the shelf. It took me four years to convince him that selling and installing accessories at the dealership is better than subletting everything out. 4.7 years and still trying....
