I would really like to be able to say that "I feel so much better", even though we all know you are pulling the leg so to speek. I find it absolutely disgusting the a customer (Dealers) let them know just how disgusting thier service has become only to have it fall on deaf ears. Never really realized that greed would make you hard of hearing, but I guess the sound of money piling up can drown out a lot of noise.

CMayne,

If you really think about it the survey is just another way that they waste our time. You know they won't do ANYTHING to really help the dealer.

That is unless you are a tier 2 or 3 or better Dealer, then they will bend over for you. I think they broke their calculator if you think about it. We do about $1.6M per year (not even tier one), if there are just 1500 Dealers out there our size that is about $2.4 billion a year in purchases. Sounds to me like that would be something I would want to piss away (NOT). Then again I can only "assume" that it cost way less to service 3000 Dealers than it does to service 4600 Dealers. The reason I say "assume" is that I doubt the bean counters are capable of calculating the cost/profit ratio in that scenario. But then again I have never gone bankrupt so I have to "assume" that I "assume" correctly. LOL!!

In their mind when selling to us tier one or under dealers I "assume" they think that they "lose a little on every sale but make it up in volume." :?:

You are correct though all of little guys make up a BIG portion of the sales.

GM parts came about around 1970 and from that point on they have NEVER lost money. GM Parts created about 49% of GM's profit last year. I am going to lay odds that GM did not loose jack squat on ANY little sale. If you look at part # 20845113, a 20 cent clip, made in Japan, shipped to Mexico to avoid import fees, reboxed and shipped up here through NAFTA and the Dealer (big or small) pays $8.21 for it, then it's EASY to see why!

Did anyone notice the usual question missing asking if you felt like a customer in this years survey?

I didn't see that question and doubt I skipped over it since I took my time this year.

Just a thought. Maybe the report is going to be our Christmas present this year. December 24th and it is still not out.
Oh wait a minute, this is the corporate world we are talking about, I guess you can't say "Christmas", that would be "politicaly incorrect".
So maybe for the non-specific winter solstice holiday we will get the report on the survey.

On the other hand, I hope you all have a great Christmas and New years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny you would bring that up - I sent off a DFOAB issue asking where the results were yesterday morning. We'll see if it gets posted...
