23223178 and 2006-2015 Impala

Catalog still list part number 15824471 which global disconnect says changes to 23223178. So are we suppose to call partech and get the correct number? I don't have anything to do for the next hour or so.....

Hey guys,
If you go to enginnering notes for 15824471 it will give you 3 different part numbers for Impala keys, BE AWARE the numbers listed are for CUT keys !!. The note also states there are no UNCUT keys available at the present time.

What a damn joke! 15824471 changed to 23223178 which is noted to use 23267471 "cut key". I order that with the code and sits at 088 with a SPAC case. Now it changes to an "un-cut" key 23277037. No real ETA other than stock is due at the distribution center the week of 9/22. All I need is a damn key to cut for my customer! I'm sick of looking a fool with my customers! I found dealers that have the 23223178 so I'm just going to use that.

gully, are you sure it's code 88? I order a whole bunch and got them. You just have to put it in as a CSO3 and pay the overnight charge. But if it is for a warranty job you can charge GM back for that anyway. I think the max quantity is 10 per line.

23267471 is currently sitting 088 with a SPAC. SPAC said today it changed to 23277037. What # are you ordering?

Ok thanks! I got one from another local dealer. Other than having the big hole, it's exactly the same as a 23234400 which I ordered off the G_0000198183 bulletin for the HHR/Cobalt. I'm beginning to think all these part numbers are the same key. They just can't figure out if they want a big hole or a little one.

Had a customer down and needed 15824471 key I used the 23223178 to get him going and worked fine. I instructed him that GM can't make up their mind on which keys go where and that this key was not for his vehicle. His comment was "#%&^'em they are the same morons that get a ignition switch right" Could not deny that

For whoever is following this and wants a laugh... This is 23277037. Same key with a ring on it.
