A large Atlanta-based auto parts distributor has sought bankruptcy protection from creditors.
Miller Auto Parts & Supply Company Inc. and three affiliates -- Johnson Industries Inc., Miller Auto Parts & Paint Company Inc., and AutoPartsTomorrow -- filed for Chapter 11 on Sept. 15.
The company has been in business since 1896, according to its website. Miller Auto Parts and Supply has 13 locations in Pennsylvania and Maryland along with nine locations in Georgia servicing new car dealers, fleets and automotive repair facilities, according to its website. Its CEO is Randy Kulamer.
The company has assets and liabilities of between $10 million and $50 million, and owes money to between 1,000 and 5,000 creditors, according to its Chapter 11 filing.

Sadly another casualty of GM's greed. I am surprised that more of the Delco jobbers haven't gone out.

We used to buy somethings from Johnson Industries before GM said selling outside your territory was a no no. I bet there are high fives all around at GM today.

What will we do when the WD's all close ? Rim is a two day refill. We get punished if we prepare (buy) on our own. Just thinking outloud.

Might be time to start thinking about switching to Interstate Batteries

Thankfully here, Johnson Industires sold out to Crow-Burlingame, so unless all the Bumper to Bumper stores go under we should be safe.

Pitiful! GM should be ashamed! They are helping other countries put ours out of business. Can't wait to see what happens when our country can't afford to buy their vehicles!

SHAMEFUL!

No, GM isn't ashamed...They did it...this stupid Same Day Repair deal that no longer lets us run our parts departments in a way that is best for our customers, best for our dealerships, and best for profitability. My sales are up, but my profit is down...it's missing a large chunk of 687 that GM took when they took away my choice to buy parts locally. My inventory is up, my return reserve is 1/2 of what it was, and my same day repairs % is pitiful.....but GM is making more money off my back.
