Ign cylinder RIM proposal

Watch your RIM proposals for the next few days. The ignition lock cylinder is "no longer" a recall issue so RIM is going to take control again, using your "current" sales history, including recalls and load you up on lock cylinders.

I got one this morning. My co-worker and I had a chuckle. One of RIM's major flaws; proposals based on demand hits not what the part # is or what it is for. Ridiculous.

I got one this morning too. So can you order the cylinder kits without a VIN now?

And tomorrow, after RIM has ordered the SPQ, you will see a message that the part has been removed from RIM management.

I complained to RIM via email about the driveshaft and the wiper module. Response from GM RIM via email,

"I have requested part number 22819506 to be removed from RIM management, it is listed as a campaign part and not cataloged. Part number 22773541 is not a recall exclusive number and RIM can manage it."

The RIM guy I talked to about the wiper module suggested I chose "keep current policy for 10 weeks" while they looked into it. I was at one and it changed to 4 on my recalc after doing 10 on our in stock vehicles. I was ok with keeping one but not 4 of them.

I ordered a kit last week for a customers car using the whole vin thing as per the bulletin. This morning, I got it, mixed in with my regular freight from GM. Not overnighted. I guess the "urgency" is over........
