Recall 14456

Recall 14456

Postby bigmac » Fri Oct 17, 2014 6:32 pm

Got an answerback today for a GM generated shipment of 1 striker for this recall. Cannot pull the bulletin up so don't know if service can actually do the recall, know they cannot get paid for it until its released. The kicker is the answerback says for Saturday delivery. Why pay extra for Saturday delivery :?:

Rep. told me they were pre shipping parts for the Spark hood latch issue. Should receive a preshipment of 50% of your NCD inventory.

We now have five of these latches and there is still nothing on SI. Anyone have any luck finding anymore information out about this recall?

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! The automotive magazines are publishing this, Oct.3,2014
" The recall covers Spark vehicles manufactured from Jan. 17, 2012, to July 29, 2014.
The secondary hood latch may prematurely corrode at the latch pivot, causing the striker to get stuck out of position and preventing it from properly engaging the hood latch, NHTSA said. To fix the problem, GM dealers will replace the striker and latch with a new part that has superior corrosion protection.
Dealers will perform the repair service free of charge.
GM has not yet provided a notification schedule, NHTSA said.
Vehicle owners can contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14456."

But GM has not told the Dealer jack squat...... You may want to call the number provided in the article. "perhaps" they can tell you something!!!!!!!!!
