Does this make any sense?

Does this make any sense?

Postby Zep33 » Tue Nov 04, 2014 2:42 pm

Maybe it's just too early in the morning but wtf is GM thinking with this one?

Changes in collision estimating and parts procurement systems in the marketplace have allowed our competition to use our data to price aftermarket parts against Genuine GM Parts. Therefore, December 1, 2014, GM Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) will no longer provide trade and list price on monthly price tapes for Genuine GM Collision Parts.

Effective December 1, 2014, CCA is launching MyPriceLink, a game-changing platform that will streamline and automate the way you obtain Genuine GM Collision Parts suggested list pricing. This includes the following product lines and sub-lines:

FOR DEALERS

Market-based collision list pricing will be made available on an individual vehicle basis through a new dynamic tool called MyPriceLink. This automated “real-time” pricing engine will provide Genuine GM Collision Parts list pricing to the market “up-front” at the time of the initial repair estimate.

Dealers will have two options in which they can access MyPriceLink Both are within the OEConnection Dealer Portal (http://portal.oeconnection):

MyPriceLink Price Lookup Tool - A new, separate tool available within your existing OEC suite of tools.
CollisionLink - CollisionLink will be enhanced to include MyPriceLink functionality and features streamlining the ordering process. CollisionLink is the GM recommended best practice for collision orders.

Zepp: I have not looked yet but this "sounds" like a crap load more work for the dealers personel just so you can make 12 1/2% gross on their bump program. Sounds exactly like something GM would come up with...... YOU do the work, WE make the profit. What a bunch of whores!!!!!!!!!!!

I am having trouble finding, within any of the literature so far, where it states the pricing WILL NOT still be on GlobalConnect.

If the pricing is not on my DMS it will be even harder to get the info from Global than OEC because the system logs you out or is down consistently!
Either way is completely de-constructive, but we already know they don't give a *blank* about what we have to do, they'll do whatever they want and you just have to take it.
It's kind of like the weather: If you cant stand it where you are, move somewhere else.

What do you think is going to happen on 12/1/14 when OEConnection 's website and mypartslink starts getting slammed with all these requests for pricing?
Any bets on how long it will take them to crash? :o :?

This is insane! They have to clue what they are talking about. No more list prices or trade prices in the catalog or DMS. Good luck quoting retail customers prices friends. We are really going to look like assholes now calculating prices while they stare at us. They don't think the insurance companies are going to have "market-driven prices" available to them!!!?? WOW...JUST WOW! :o

Just wait untill your "flat-rate" tech has to stand there and wait for a quote. The Sh*t WILL hit the fan!!!!!
Your Service Manager, General Manager and DP on going to be down your throat. I recomend that when this goes down you all invite them in to see how it works BEFORE you get sent down the road. These folks have some SERIOUS explaining to do to the folks above you as to why you are no longer making any money. This whole thing was put together by some IT freak just hired out of Dumb F**K Central.
