Work hard every day. Work your inventory every day. Always be training your people. I only work 45 hours Monday thru Friday. I work from the second I walk in the door until I leave for the day. I never get behind and EVERTHING gets done every day. I never leave something until tomorrow. Very profitable. No obsolescence. Stay focused on what needs to be done every day. Best of luck to you!

Learn about Gross Profit and teach it to your employees. Teach your consultants the importance of keeping the inventory counts correct. You will learn a lot of things that you never knew existed; try to learn something new everyday. Above all else; be a leader and an example to your employees...The true measurement of how well you are as a manager is how well your employees perform their jobs...Always communicate EVERYTHING with them even things you may think are miniscule; it all adds up and will make everybody better.

Guys I really appreciate it honestly means alot just closed out my first end of month on the 5th and wasn't as bad as I thought, I was fortunate enough to have inherited a squeaky clean inventory I just gotta stay on top of it and should be fine. Again thanks for the tips and I look forward to posting more on other questions or issues I might run into.

Joined just to empathize with you. Next month is ten years in the business for me, all with Nissan. Six months of changing oil, and the last nine and a half years in parts. My dealer group opened another Nissan store this past October, and I took the parts manager job that I'd been working towards for some time. Brand new store. Gross for the first month was $878. I don't know if I'll ever get that number out of my head.

I've gleaned a lot of useful information from everyone here through the years. You've all been tremendously helpful.
