Gator Express

Gator Express

Postby gunner » Tue May 26, 2015 8:58 pm

I've managed to successfully get rid of Captiva from calling and pestering the hell out of me, now I've got some outfit called Gator Express doing the same thing.
Anyone know who they are, where they are? If I can get some basic info I can put a stop to it. I ask and all I get is the run around.
Another vendor that is so proud of it's crap that they have to bribe me to buy from them!

Yep, that's them!
They got a great Cincinnati Reds Jacket they'll give me if I'll just help them out and take a couple dozen TPMS from them.
I'm will willing to bet the sensors aren't any better than the Reds are!

I just told them all:
"We don't purchase from vendors that call" follow that up with "no, we just don't!" if necessary. If you train them right, THEY actually start hanging up on YOU when they hear your voice
You get moved from list to list, but the ones who usually call, are new to that company or the telemarketing game anyhow.

Check out Tom Mabe, he does a great job of getting revenge on telemarketers!

I've never heard of Gator Express, but guys who operate like that give the good salesmen a bad name. I have been selling keys and remotes to dealerships for over 7 years, and the majority of my new contacts are reached through telemarketing. It is important to establish a personal connection with prospects, which is why some companies try to figure out your favorite sports team, what you like to do on weekends, your hobbies, etc, so that they can establish rapport and become a real person to you. Often times those same companies offer free gifts, kick backs, etc, a trade off so to speak, to get your business. I have never liked that approach. I don't make my living selling keys and remotes, but by selling myself and the services I can offer. And I don't need to offer you anything other than my products and service, great prices, free shipping, and of course my product knowledge. I make my personal connections through showing my customers that I care about their business. This is how I feed my family for almost a decade now, and I want you to come back and buy again. Heck, I want to sell you keys and remote for life. I felt the need to post because it really burns my biscuits to hear folks say they don't buy parts from companies who sell over the phone. I live in Houston, Texas, so how can I reach a prospective customer in Denver, Colorado without giving them a phone call? Even if I were going to send a mailer out to a parts department, which is pretty archaic in these days of instant contact through email, I would want to call and introduce myself before you received the flyer. I know the parts manager who I am sending the info to is much more likely to take a look if it has his name on it, and even more likely if he has actually spoken with the person sending it. I know how many calls you guys get on a daily basis, but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater! Some of us are just hard working people like you, trying to make a living the best way we know how.
