Good reports to run before inventory

Hey guys I have inventory this coming sunday. I have been working hard on getting everything straight. But I am just curious if I missed anything. Anyone have any good reports to run or know what reports to run to prepare for the big day. Thanx

Not sure what DMS system you are on but being on CDK Websuite 2007 here I tend to run RAS and RPD quite frequently. You want to make sure any special order parts requests have been filled to relieve them from inventory if the parts are gone. Another I run is RNO to check for parts with negative on hand values to make sure everything is accounted for. One of the biggest is DPL (detailed parts listing) which is a huge report of all parts active in the system. It's basically a backup of information in case inventory goes to hell and you can't get back up and running. These are just a few I normally run. I'm sure there are most I'm missing. Good luck counting!

Open Parts invoices
Dirty cores OH
Open orders, make sure valid
Open (un-invoiced) packing slips
Check all open claims/returns with mfg. as well as local vendors
Parts OH with no bin location
Run a list of all your bin locations for goofs like 1 instead of I or other typos
Unpriced parts OH
Parts with negative OH
Pending invoices in acctg.
Make sure all payables are punched

Create a report generator to list all your bin locations. I ran a few days before our inventory and got rid of many incorrect bins. If you need a copy of it, I will provide.

I also created a "map" of the parts department. during the inventory, i didn't count myself, i delegated where the count teams (group of 2) did their count. With the map i could keep everyone away from each other and not one team ran into another team during count. made things go quicker.

Have the count teams do any add ins on a separate sheet. therefore your count sheets can be processed while someone investigates the add ins.

Make sure you call the RIM help desk and let them know you are

Of course it will. But notice that anything that gets adjusted in "their" favor doesn't do anything to offset it.

Watch your purchase loyalty numbers for the next two days. Make sure you send in your adjustments with "physical inventory" as the reason for the adjustment. You will only have a couple days to put these in before they close the month. So make sure you keep an eye on it. If you don't know how to do your purchase adjustments feel free to private message me and I can walk you through it.

Yes do as possum says. We also like to print a separate inventory pad of our special order source. Do not include parts with a zero on hand. It will still show parts on order and parts on open ROs but gives you a nice short list of what should be there. Any parts in special orders that have a bin location elsewhere need to be put up. Less headaches!!
