More backordered brake pads - thanks GM

More backordered brake pads - thanks GM

Postby Zep33 » Mon Jun 08, 2015 7:56 pm

Today's RIM order had 3 sets of brake pads - 3 different part #s - All 3 listed as backordered. 2 actually say "no inventory available" and one that they won't ship anymore but from your own warehouse on a RIM order so the back order it until they get some.

anyone running into a low, low availability of brake pads?

These are becoming a real problem. Another RIM state message about another set now not eligible for RIM this morning.

The other day I had a customer that really wanted a set that's on review code F so I CSO3d a set and got raped $28 in shipping for them.

Won't even consider doing that again.

Carquest it is

I've run into it a few times. Had to get them from an ACD jobber.

Our WD doesn't stock anything anymore - or they have a way to hide parts from dealers since we don't/can't order anything from them anymore. 95% of the time I check stock on something with them besides batteries, they don't have it.

One of the sets of backordered pads showed they had 4 on the locater 1 day but when I checked their site, it said zero. I checked the locator the next day and it still showed 4 with the current date and again showed none when I checked with them directly. After that I just assumed they were able to hide the parts from dealers and keep them for their real customers

I heard that GM is removing copper from the brake pad recipe... all brake pads will likely go B/O sooner or later.
