Called a locksmith to verify what the code should look like.
Called GM to see if they could fix the typo in Global. Was told they would contact me within 24 hours if they could pull the original invoice and see what the code was on it.
20 hours later, I still have not heard back and I have rechecked the code on Global and am getting the same incorrect code.
So I've got a customer without his car and I'm nowhere closer to making keys for him than I was yesterday.
I love how GM gives themselves 24 hours to do something that should be pretty simple but expects us to be on call 24 hours a day and respond to a customer within 4.
Double standards 'R' us
The locksmith is willing to sell me 10 cheap non-transponder keys that I can try to cut one at a time and use each digit in place of that letter but who knows if the rest of it is even correct.
Anyone ever run into this and how did you go about fixing it? Customer should not have to purchase a new lock cylinder to recode it and this one's not cheap - nevermind the labor
BTW, I've been trying to follow up with GM on yesterday's case and have been on hold the entire time it took to type this and I haven't reached a person yet
