NEW AND IMPROVED (OR ENHANCED)

NEW AND IMPROVED (OR ENHANCED)

Postby Parts007 » Fri Jul 17, 2015 2:46 pm

It seems like everything in our lives as parts guys is recently or soon to be "New or Improved" 1. Global's new home page doesn't have our shortcuts we use all day, everyday. It has a mugshot of some GM bigwig who could pass as used car salesman of the year. No disrespect to this individual, but I don't log on to Global to see YOU. 2. New and improved parts catalog that doesn't have the same functionality as the one going away. Some of you have already mentioned these issues. 3. I also see that OE has a new and improved D2D screen that must make my life easier.

What else in your life is new and improved?

Don't forget about the exciting new "no msrp" pricing deal on its way... GM's war on partstrader. Unfortunately its us dealers sitting on board the landing craft, waiting for the doors to drop.

That's what you get when you have people who have never done this job making the decisions.

Exactly Timk and when you get into the right spot in Global it is the same screen as always. A kin to putting lipstick on a pig I would say. In OE Connect they have a Buy Opportunities. Buy at a discount from another dealer?? Maybe GM could talk to OE and explain that that scenario is a no no. Don't even get me started on the cluster that is name search in the catalog......

GM - We're not happy until you're not happy

I'll bet they're ecstatic by now

If they would put a fraction of the effort into fixing what is wrong with the current one that they are putting into the new and improved one, we all would be soooo much better off.

The picture of someone taking up almost half the friggin screen when you first log in is completely narcisisstic and ridiculous at the same time. Who the hell wants to see that when it's taking valubale space for something else that may actually be considered useful?

Agreed. I don't mind change when it makes things easier or adds value but this thing does neither. Just the fact that we're seeing this:

should be a clue this thing needs more work.

I don't oppose change, but all the latest enhancements to the EPC, GlobalDisconnect and OEConnect are just going backwards, making simple everyday jobs (all day long jobs) harder, not easier.
