OEC D2D price increase!!!

Postby Richard » Wed Aug 05, 2015 5:04 pm

I just got a letter than my d2d service is going from $199/mo to $349/mo....guess I'll be cancelling that....

They tell me it's based on part number count, and for the last 4 weeks or so, GM has added a lot of little parts under $30.... hmmmmm and I just went over the Tier 2 threshold......amazing.....

I got that exact same letter Richard and when I tried to call them to ask what the story was, they weren't taking calls.

I called today and they told me they condensed everything into 3 tiers now

from 1-1999 parts is tier 1
2000-3999 is tier 2
4000 and up is tier 3

we're at tier 2 with 3735 parts so not too far from tier 3 and we're a small dealership.

SO even if 90% of the parts you have are the same parts that every other dealer has and no one would ever call you for them. Oil, coolant, hell all fluids with a part #. Every Oring, clip, nut, bolt, etc.., they all count as "sku's" that they can now use to count against you to justify billing you by sku count.

and I think they are counting any SAAB part # I have that comes up as a vaild # whether discontinued or not

I did just get rid of a $16 SAAB part this afternoon though

But guys! Think of all the sales OPPORTUNITIES this brings you every month! Just think, you only have to sell about $3k a month to other dealers to break even. No problem! I think the OEC and Partstrader people have been hanging out together.

I talked to the General Manager and he said we are cancelling. And we must not be the only ones, I could hear the phone bank behind the lady that called me going full tilt......

Cancellation Policy

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.
The cancellation letter must include their dealer information (company name, address, phone number, and dealer code), the products they are canceling, and the reason for the cancellation.
The cancellation process does not begin until a written request has been received.
Dealers may fax (330-523-1700 or 330-523-1733) or e-mail (Customer.Care at OEConnection dot com) their request to Subscription Management.
Cancellations are based on the terms and conditions in the contract. Where applicable, OEConnection must receive a cancellation request 30 days prior to the Evergreen Date or their contract will roll over for another term.

They said "how are you going to find parts at other dealers?" I said I'm not, can't buy them from other dealers if I want to keep my purchase loyalty number up with GM.

"But you can buy parts at a discount!" Again, refer to my purchase loyalty issue.

"How are you going to see if the PDC has the part" Uhhh, GM Dealerworld website?

"What about selling your old inventory??" So far I've sold 2 old parts this year, and I'm not sure you folks helped with that.

"What would it take to keep you from cancellng???" Drop the price to $49/month, I'll stay. Otherwise, BYE!

"Well, I can't do THAT" Then bye.

I work at Ford now, used to be at Chrysler, but I think they still have a OE D2D, my manager never complained about it, so I think it didn't cost a lot of anything at all, and Chrysler would take care of all the shipping and handling, you would just have to print off the appropriate label and tag it too the part, and put in the caged for the day & ross guy to come get it and bring it back to the PDC, or some times if you were rural, fedex, or another delivery comp. would come and grab it. we once got a d2d part from Michigan to Canada, in one night, mind you the d2d went through at 9am. but still. you would just have to accept the d2d request and check it periodically so you could sell. or it would get bumped to the next dealer, sold a lot through there. Chrysler I think also did a kickback reimbursement because you sold it at cost.
