You can also learn a little about your specific hazmat item by studying the manifest and hazmat paperwork from the incoming shipment to you.

There was no hazmat paperwork whatsoever with it and no markings on the box stating it's hazmat either. I was dumbfounded

After finding the correct bulletin for this specific battery - PIT4821D - , it states in there that this battery is "non-spillable" and exempt from DOT hazmat materials regulations when shipping by ground transportation.

Weird
