Bulletin #G_0000159780

Postby DWoodward » Fri Oct 02, 2015 4:52 pm

did i fall asleep here or something? i sent back a bumper cover today for a core return (i don't do many) and the driver refused to pick it up because it didn't have a box,now i thought according to Bulletin #G_0000159780 that fascia's didn't require a box to be returned in.but as per the core sticker on the box of a new cover i got in today,it says that it "MUST BE IN A BOX" for core credit. i couldn't argue with the guy so it's still here, has there been a change in policy?

The policy change must be in one of those emails we're not receiving.

I'm still sending fascia cores back without a box no problem.

No box; no problem for me so far as well.
I am not aware of any change and have no trouble having the driver take them and receiving credit.

I know our driver had a giant box strapped to the wall of his truck to throw all the bumper cover cores in. It would suck for him or any other driver to have to start taking them all back in the original boxes. Some dealer's cores alone would fill his truck. And then they would bitch and moan when he couldn't take them all

We're cutting off a part of the fascia so that it fits in a tote. We also make sure the area that is cut has some type of labeling from GM and then we attach the core label to the piece.

from the P&P manual regarding core returns:

******************************************************************************************************************
 Cores must be returned in the original container as the container serves as proof of
purchase from GM. Exceptions to the container rule are catalytic converters, fascias,
bumper covers, and select wheels. Proof-of-purchase peel-off labels must be affixed
directly to the fascias/covers and these cores should be returned without the GM
container. Certain wheels with peel-off labels can be returned in non-genuine GM
boxes with the peel-off label attached to the outside of the box.
