Snap-On October EPC update

Postby Bravepart » Tue Oct 06, 2015 8:06 am

Got my 6 discs today (yesterday now) and started to run them at 5:00 pm Monday and am still here downloading at 4:00 AM Tuesday morning and need to go home and get ready for work ????/ Directions said 4-6 hours, but this took close to 12 hours. I hope this never happens again . Got to be a better way. This has to be done by October 17th. and I only have the one PC.

I will be doing it during the day and just use the EPC on Dealerworld.

Well now, I am a bit concerned. I am on the waiting list for a new catalog server install. Snap-On tells me they are backlogged and it may be another 10 weeks. My equipment has been here for two weeks. What is aggravating, is being told that old server will have no problem running new catalog and a month ago being told old server won't handle new updates...That would have been nice to know. Gotta love it.

I still want to have the old EPC back. I did not update one of the three terminals I have and I am amazed at how much easier the old EPC was compared to this new thing. Like I said in another post, I can't believe that they piloted this and it was given the green light to proceed.

Got mine yesterday. Started on one at 4:30 and left it running after 5:45 on the first Archived disc. Finished the last two this morning. Took about an hour to finish up.

These posts had me nervous about how long my updates were going to take. Got my discs yesterday morning and started updates on two of my 3 stand-alone pc's, each one took around 2 hours and the final one this morning took another 2 hours. So I consider myself lucky.

Ours took 10.5, 9 & 9.5 respectively to load 3 stations, with only one call to SBS. Not fun!
